The outboard manufacturer turns 60 and honors its legacy with new products.
With Suzuki Marine celebrating its 60th anniversary in 2025, the Japanese outboard manufacturer shows no signs of slowing down.
Suzuki Marine expanded and enhanced its outboard line in 2024, and Suzuki plans to keep the party going with further product refinements. The biggest splash Suzuki made was at the 2024 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show where they announced the return of its DF200 4-stroke outboard for heavy center consoles and large pontoons.
Available for single or multiple applications, the 200-hp V6 outboard is designed for boats that need more low-end torque and acceleration out of the hole. Suzuki’s offset driveshaft design and two-stage gear reduction that allows the motor to swing a larger propeller. The offset driveshaft and Suzuki’s 55-degree V6 block create a more compact motor to fit the transom of today’s boats.
Suzuki’s 2025 200 V6 is offered in 20- and 25-inch shaft lengths and a choice of black or white colors.
“As we like to say at Suzuki, in some boating applications there’s simply no replacement for displacement,” said Brandon Cerka, general manager sales and service for Suzuki Marine USA, in a press release. “Adding a V6 200 back into our great line-up of V6 outboards will meet a market demand and offer boaters a choice when it comes to powering their vessels.”
New-for-2025 features for the new DF200 include integration with Suzuki’s new CANbus system, Suzuki’s easy start system, automatic trim, keyless starting and troll mode. Suzuki will offer the DF200 V6 alongside the existing in-line 4-cylinder 200-hp to provide boaters options. Suzuki builds outboards from 40 to 350 horsepower.
Over the summer, Suzuki formally launched its Stealth Line of outboards, which features a new, all-matte black finish and matching chrome black graphics. The line consists of eight outboards from 115 to 350 hp that received the Stealth treatment. Stealth versions of the DF300AP and DF350AMD will be released later this year.
“We knew the Stealth look was going to be popular,” Cerka said. “Even we were surprised by the immediate demand across our nationwide dealer network and customer base. It’s inspired us to fast track the expansion of Stealth Line to several other top-selling Suzuki outboard models including our Flagship 350 integrated steering model.”
The matte finish is a striking departure from a traditional Suzuki outboard with a black glossy finish. The matte finish doesn’t show water spots, which is appealing to fresh and saltwater anglers.
As part of the 60th anniversary celebration, Suzuki is offering incentives for boaters to pick up a new power plant. Through March 31, 2025, Suzuki is including a seven-year factory warranty for new outboards 150 horsepower and up for pleasure or recreational use. Traditionally, Suzuki backs its outboards with a 5-year warranty, so the extra two years is a great incentive for boaters who are on the fence about repowering their boat.
Suzuki is also offering triple rebates on its DF115 and DF140 models through March 31, 2025. The Stealth line is not part of the rebate program.
Suzuki also offers an incentive program to get boaters to trade in their old two-stroke outboards for the cleaner, more fuel-efficient 4-stroke outboards. The program applies to any brand of 2-stroke outboards can be traded in regardless of age or condition.
As part of the ‘4-4-2’ (or 4-stroke for 2-stroke) program, dealers must agree to scrap or recycle the 2-stroke outboard. The money donated goes to an environmental organization of the Suzuki dealer’s choice.
